Introduction
Located about 4 hours from Toronto in a prime wilderness covering 7000 sq km, boasting magnificent forests, rolling hills, tranquil lakes, meandering waterways and abundant wildlife.
This is a perfect chance to relax, as you learn to canoe and put your skills to the test through a series of beautiful lakes, as part of a small group of 8 participants or less. Explore a forest of Canadian maple trees, learn more about Canadian cultural heritage, and get back to nature at the cosy and intimate log cabin, with six double rooms sharing two bathrooms, a reading library, and living room with stone fireplace and traditional candle and kerosene lighting.
On a two night stay your adventure includes a hike to Surprise Lake for a picnic lunch, the 26-foot Voyageur canoe to Algonquin Log Cabin Lodge to relax or take a swim until dinner, and then take a twilight wildlife excursion to listen out for wolves. The next day an ‘edible wilds’ breakfast walk takes you to admire breathtaking views at Lookout Bluff and the opportunity to take a sauna or join a workshop on traditional Canadian crafts. Later take the canoe to watch the sunset, build a bonfire, and enjoy dinner under the stars.
