Bled is renowned for being one of the most beautiful alpine resorts. It has a picture postcard image of idyllic tranquillity and the mild climate of the region, together with its stunning natural countryside, has attracted numerous visitors for generations.
Take a unique ‘pletna’ boat ride to the enchanting islet in the centre of the lake, where you can climb the steps of the church of St. Mary and ring the wishing bell. A horse drawn carriage ride around the lake or up to the cliff top medieval castle is a great way of enjoying the scenery in a leisurely fashion. Bled is an ideal starting point for exploring the unique beauty of the Slovenian Alps. There are untold possibilities for an active holiday or a quiet break in a pristine environment.
Walking Bled is ideal for gentle strolls - a scenic 6km route around the lake; Vintgar Gorge; surrounding villages can be explored.
